# Money codes in the driver app: request from the stop, get the code in the app

> In the driver app (iPhone 1.11.5, Android 2.2.25 and later), drivers request money codes from a stop. You approve in Money Codes > Requests and choose who pays, and the code appears in the driver's app.

Drivers now ask for money codes from the driver app instead of calling the office. The request comes to the dashboard with everything you need to decide, and when you approve it the code appears in the driver's app. Nobody reads a code out over the phone.

## What you need

- The driver app on iPhone, version 1.11.5 or later, or on Android, version 2.2.25 or later. Ask drivers to update it from the App Store or Google Play.
- Your company issues money codes from the dashboard and has money code categories set up (lumper, cash advance, repair and so on).
- Someone in the office holds the **Approve Money Code Requests** permission.

If your drivers don't see money codes in the app, contact support and we'll turn it on.

## What the driver does

1. At a stop, taps **Request money code**.
2. Fills in the amount, picks the category and adds a note if needed.
3. Taps **Request code**.
4. Follows the request in **Account > Money Codes**: **Waiting for approval**, **Being issued**, then **Ready**. If you decline it, the driver sees **Declined** with your reason.
5. When it is **Ready**, opens it and taps **Show secret code**.

A driver who no longer needs the code taps **Cancel request**.

## In the dashboard: set up once

1. Open **Settings > Money Codes > Code Categories** and add the categories drivers can pick: lumper, cash advance, repair and so on. Each has a name and an icon.
2. Open **Settings > Roles** and give **Approve Money Code Requests** to the people who decide. Without it, approve and reject are hidden.

## In the dashboard: every day

1. Open **Money Codes** and go to the **Requests** tab. The badge on Money Codes in the sidebar shows how many requests wait.
2. Open a request. You see the amount, the category, the driver's note, the load and its customer, the time to decide by, the driver's requests in the last 30 days and the driver's open settlement.
3. Under **Who pays**, choose the **Customer** (the code goes on the order's invoice), the **Driver** (deducted from pay) or the **Company**. The dashboard suggests a payer for each category.
4. Press **Approve**. If your company has more than one provider contract, pick the contract first. The code is issued with your provider and appears in the driver's app as soon as the provider confirms it.
5. Or press **Reject** and write the reason. The driver sees it next to **Declined**.

## Tell your drivers

"Update the driver app. Need a lumper, a cash advance or a repair? At the stop, tap Request money code, and you'll get the code in the app as soon as the office approves it."
