How to Evaluate ELD Integration Quality
When assessing ELD-TMS integration, ask:
What data points are available? Basic integrations provide location only. Better integrations include HOS, DVIRs, and diagnostics.
How frequently does data update? Location updates every 15 minutes vs. every 5 minutes makes a significant difference for tracking accuracy.
Is the connection real-time or batch? Real-time API connections are far preferable to batch data transfers that only sync every few hours.
Is setup self-serve or does it require IT? Modern integrations should be configurable by a dispatcher, not require engineering work.
