Utility body, length and axle fields
For Utility VINs, position 4 can establish the body family, positions 7–8 the supported trailer length, and position 6 the supported axle count. Utility’s bulletin confirms reefer versus dry van is not encoded in the VIN, so we never guess it.
Great Dane lines
The sourced line evidence can establish Everest as reefer, Champion as dry van, and the Freedom line when the validated code matches. Other lines remain Not established.
Hyundai Translead for model year 2022+
For model year 2022 and newer van-body VINs, the sourced position-11 rule can establish dry van or refrigerated. Earlier or unmatched cases remain Not established.
Wabash model strings
Existing vPIC model strings already answer the supported Wabash model distinctions, so the decoder does not add a redundant model-line inference.
Published corpus coverage
