Map, rebuilt: what needs you, where loads stand and where trucks have been

The map has been rebuilt around the dispatcher's day: the list puts what needs attention first, and any truck, load or driver opens with its hours, position, stops and last 24 hours. New Manifests and Split views join Orders and the fleet, and records open beside the map instead of on another page.

Map, rebuilt: what needs you, where loads stand and where trucks have been

The map is the screen a dispatcher checks all day, so it has been rebuilt around the questions that come up most: what needs attention right now, where each load stands against its appointments, where a truck has been, and how to reach the driver. Everything opens in place, so you never lose your spot on the map.

A list that starts with what needs you

Needs attention comes first. The top of the list pins the records that need a dispatcher, each with its reason: running late for the next appointment, low on driving hours, apart from its trailer or driver, no signal from the tracker, or a long empty stretch. The rest of the fleet follows underneath.

Rows you can read at a glance. Each row shows where the record is, its state and when it last reported. Trucks and drivers show the ELD duty status as its own code (D, ON, SB, OFF, YM, PC) next to the drive time left.

Search however you type it. Press / from anywhere on the map. Every word has to match, in any order, so "john smith" finds John Michael Smith and "chicago il" finds Chicago, IL. Longer words forgive a typo, and a truck is also found by its VIN, its plate or the name and phone of its drivers. When the match is in a field the row does not show, the row tells you, for example "VIN 1FUJ…".

One map, seven views

Pick what you are looking at. Orders, Manifests and Split sit next to All, Trucks, Trailers and Drivers, which appear for companies that run their own trucks. Manifests shows every open manifest where its truck is, or at its next stop before a truck is assigned. Split lists your split chains, draws every leg in route order with the handoffs marked, and links to the chain's lineage page. All puts the whole fleet on one map, with a truck carrying its trailer and driver in one marker.

Colors that mean one thing per view. Orders are colored by status, trucks and trailers by moving or stopped, and drivers by ELD duty status. A tracker that has gone quiet turns into a grey ring, so an old color never passes for a current one. The legend counts every state and, once you zoom in, shows how many are in view out of the whole fleet. Click a legend row to hide that state, or Alt+click to show it alone. When several trucks stand in the same yard, clicking the cluster lists them instead of zooming in forever.

Select anything to see where it stands

The first questions, answered at the top. Select a truck, trailer, driver, load or manifest and the panel on the right starts with Now (duty status, place and how long ago), Position and Hours (drive time left and when the next break is due). Position says where the location comes from, such as the ELD and its provider or the driver's phone, and when there is none it says why: no tracker, the driver app not installed, or location switched off. Crew lists a truck's trailer and drivers and whether they are together or how far apart.

The whole plan on the map. A selected truck draws its open manifests, with stops numbered in the order it will visit them and the empty miles between manifests dotted. Its manifests sit in the panel, and a strip under the map shows its week, day by day, and when it is free next. For a load, the arrival estimate lists every remaining stop with its ETA on the stop's local time, whether it is early, on time or late, and the distance left.

Stops, in order

Loads, manifests and split legs open on their stops. Each stop shows its appointment window on the stop's local time, with what happened or is expected: Departed or Arrived for a stop already served, an ETA for one still ahead, and how late it runs when it falls behind. Once the trip is under way, a Truck is here line sits before the next stop, with the distance left to it.

Pick a stop in the list or on the map. Click a row to see the stop's status, address, reference, notes, actual times and contacts, and the map brings the stop into view. Click a stop on the map and the list jumps to it. The [ and ] keys step through the stops.

Where it has been

Tracking: the last 24 hours as stops and distance, and the replay player under the map with the manifest on the same timeline.

The Tracking tab. For the last 12 or 24 hours (press H to switch) it shows the distance driven, the number of stops and the longest one, then every stop of 10 minutes or more with its address and duration, and every stretch the tracker did not report. Pick a row to see that stop on the map. If a truck has gone quiet, the tab shows the hours before its last position and says so.

Replay it. Play observations opens a player under the map for the same window. Choose Today, Yesterday, 24h, 72h, Last 7 days or a custom range of up to a week, and play it at 1×, 4×, 16× or 64×. One lane shows when the truck was moving or stopped, and the manifests it ran sit on the same timeline. Replay is offered only where there is something to show, and an empty range tells you where the last position was and offers to replay up to it.

Open a record without leaving the map

A manifest opened beside the map, with Open in new tab for the full page.

Details open beside the map. Open load, Open manifest, Open truck, Open trailer and Open driver now show the full record in a panel next to the map. The map keeps its position, selection and list, and the panel follows when you pick another record. Drag its edge to resize it (the width is remembered), use Open in new tab for the full page, or press O to open the selected record. Cmd or Ctrl click still opens the page in a new tab.

Reach the driver from the map

A driver's panel: Call, SMS, Alert and Push, and why there is no position.

Call, SMS, Alert and Push under the driver's name. After an alert, the panel shows whether it was delivered and when the driver confirmed it. The driver's phone shows the device they used last and which settings are switched off (location, background location, critical alerts, notifications), or that the app is not installed.

Share exactly what you see

The view lives in the link. The address carries the view, the selected record, the map position, the open tab, the replay range, the search and the filters, so a reload or a link sent to a colleague opens the same picture. Copy it with the link button in the header, or press L. Back and Forward step between the records you opened.

Open on map from a profile or a load. Truck, trailer and driver profiles and loads have Open on map, which opens the map on that record. If your filters would hide that truck, trailer or driver, it is pinned at the top of the list under Hidden by your filters, with a button to clear them.

How to use it

Open Map in the main menu and pick a view at the top. Select a row or a marker, then switch between Stops, Details and Tracking in the panel on the right.
