A sign-in that fails with a bare error leaves people locked out and calling support. Every sign-in screen now explains what went wrong in plain words and offers the next step, and admins can see which members are stuck.
When sign-in fails
- Wrong email or password: the page says so and offers to reset your password or send you a sign-in link by email.
- Too many attempts: password sign-in pauses for your security, with a countdown until you can try again. A sign-in link by email or a password reset still works in the meantime.
- Your phone isn't receiving our texts: if your phone once replied STOP, the page shows the number to text START to. On a phone, one tap opens your messages with START already typed. Then ask for the code again, or get it by email instead.
- A text that never arrives: the code screen notices within seconds when a text can't be delivered and says why. After 20 seconds, Didn't get a text? offers the code by email or another text.
- Wrong code: the page shows how many tries are left, and offers a new code when they run out.
What you typed stays in the form. If something goes wrong on our side, the page shows a reference to share with support, so they can find what happened. And when you are signed out because your session expired or your password changed, the sign-in page tells you why.
Who can't sign in, on the Members page
Settings > Members now shows next to a member's status when they can't sign in: Locked until a time, after too many failed attempts, or Can't receive sign-in texts. Open the member to read what happened and what fixes it.
Admins who can edit members can Unlock a locked member or Email a reset link, and copy the number a member needs to text START to. These actions are not offered on your own account.
